Hey everyone. Welcome back to another week of Beasley ballers. This is week three. And so just to give you a little recap of week two, the first game we talked about Texas versus Alabama. I said at the end of that episode, I'd be okay. Taking a loss on that one. And I certainly am. Okay. Because Texas beat out Alabama. Heck yes. So I'm totally okay with that loss because Laura and I said the elephant, I think yeah. Donnie said that one too. But the second game, the NFL game, which was a Cincinnati versus the Browns. The Browns ended up winning, unfortunately. But again, I just don't care about either of those teams. I can try to pretend like a do, but I really don't. Anyway, here is week three of Beasley ballers. Thank you guys for listening and make sure you keep tuning into these Laura. And I might be done with the season four right now. We're going to be back in about a month. So until then, we're going to go ahead and use beasley ballers as a fill-in until the next season starts to thank you guys so much for listening and here's week three

Katy:

all right, so week three So then Donnie, who do we have for? College games for this week because we're gonna do college and NFL as

Donnie:

So the college one that I thought would be fun to highlight, you know, I'm a big Dion Sanders fan, and I think a lot of eyes are on him and the Colorado Buffaloes right now, and they're playing their rival, the Colorado state, I think they're the Rams, is that

Katy:

Colorado State. Yeah. Yeah, they're Rams.

Laura:

Yeah. I actually know that one.

Katy:

How how I love all of them. That is the one, you

Laura:

Because I worked with, I worked with a guy who went to Colorado State, and he had all of his old everything with him.

Donnie:

Oh, and so, you know, I live in the, DFW area and I think we're all Dion supporters and. He played for the Cowboys. He played for the 49ers. He played for the Falcons, played for Florida state. He's like the greatest cornerback of all time.

Laura:

Is he a coach now?

Katy:

a coach now. This is his first, year of coaching,, Colorado,

Laura:

you think they're gonna win because the coach is the best?

Donnie:

Well, so, you know, in week one, TCU is ranked. If you were watching the national championship last year, TCU is in it. Everybody saw they're playing Colorado first game. Deion got the head coaching job. I think that was the highlighted game and the whole country watched his son just ball out of control. So they, they beat TCU and, he comes off the field and, talk the talk, walk the walk. And he just. You know, he's, Katie, what, what, what am I looking for? He's pretty cocky and arrogant. There you go. He's kind of backing it up though. It's, it's, It's, hilarious.

Katy:

we'll, we'll see how he does. So, a Ram

Laura:

that's a and this isn't, this, we already have a, Ram. we already had a Ram mascot. That was North Carolina?

Katy:

look at you.

Laura:

I remembered! So this is, there's, there's two college with Rams. Is there a difference in the species of ram?

Katy:

I'm looking that up right now.

Laura:

Thank you. Because I'm pretty sure Colorado's is a bighorn sheep.

Katy:

I think, I think, it is, I'm pretty sure.

Laura:

But I have no idea what North Carolina's is. I didn't actually look at the picture. I don't think it matters. I There's no way a ram is beating a bison. But.

Katy:

Yeah, it doesn't really say, except for it just went Aggie Rams. to Rams.

Laura:

Because it's, it's, it's, the other one is a bison, or is it a different type of buffalo?

Katy:

No, it's a bison.

Donnie:

they run with one of those on the field.

Laura:

Okay, okay,

Katy:

oh, Orambulet.

Laura:

For who? North Carolina?

Katy:

Uh, no, for Colorado State. Yeah, it's a sheep. This definitely changes things.

Laura:

well that's what bighorn sheep are.

Katy:

No, no, no, no, not, no, it's like a sheep sheep, not like a,

Donnie:

Why don't they call themselves the sheep?

Laura:

Well.

Katy:

Not like a bighorn sheep that you see out in the wild, like, no, like a sheep, like a fluffy wool sheep, hold on, yes,

Donnie:

their helmet, they have horns. So I'm assuming it's a ram.

Katy:

they all, yeah, no, no, no, they all,

Laura:

Oh yeah, you're right. It's just Cam the ram.

Katy:

Yeah, dude, it's a sheep though.

Laura:

I mean, not that it would make much difference I feel like a sheep ram and a goat ram are probably pretty similar. But he looks silly. Look at him, he's so

Katy:

No. Yeah, you know, he's yeah, he's a sheep. He's a fluffy wool sheep So not like a bighorn Bighorn sheep like stocky. No, this is like a sheep with wool that you would go up and pet

Laura:

well,

Donnie:

What a weak mascot. that thing can't beat a Buffalo

Laura:

no, there's no way. This is like, this

Donnie:

or a Bison.

Laura:

their horns, his horns definitely are, respectable, and it would absolutely freaking hurt to be hit by one, but like,

Katy:

Oh, yeah, but I mean it would hurt a person not a not a bison

Laura:

another sheep, right? Like, bison are made, both of them are, both of them are animals that do the same thing, so then it just comes down to size.

Katy:

Wasn't that one of your pics of could you ride that Laura was a bison?

Laura:

a bison. Yeah.

Katy:

I thought so thought

Laura:

It's a big freaking animal. That's like at least twice as big as that sheep, if not three times as big.

Katy:

Yeah, oh my gosh, and just the sheer power and strength of it. No chance.

Laura:

Aggie. Dead. Dead. Very quickly.

Donnie:

Hey, Katie, look something up for me. I saw Colorado at the Independence Bowl one year and Buffalo that ran out, his name's Ralph, and it was funny. Cause it's just like a Buffalo running out on the field.

Katy:

A bison?

Donnie:

They'll keep correcting me, but I thought they were the Buffalos,

Laura:

you're right. They are

Katy:

that's what They call it, but that's what they call it, but that's not a

Laura:

It's such a weird technicality, so, when people first came here to America, they were like, Oh, look, buffalo, because they look like the European buffalo, but they're not the same thing. They're actually what's called a bison, but we just call them American buffalo, but American buffalo are bison. It's confusing, but,

Donnie:

seriously. So they tricked me my whole life.

Laura:

well, it's like, you know how people sometimes call, vultures buzzards? Buzzards are actually a totally different bird.

Katy:

Yeah. Not even close.

Laura:

Buzzards are Buzzards but people came here to America and were like, those look like what we saw back in Europe. They must be buzzards.

Katy:

Yeah, they must be the same thing. Yeah, not the same thing.

Donnie:

Or I grew up, we just call them chicken hawks.

Laura:

So wait, it's Colorado State, and what's the other one?

Katy:

Colorado? University?

Laura:

Oh, University.

Katy:

just Colorado.

Donnie:

It's Colorado.

Laura:

Okay, Colorado University mascot.

Katy:

Yeah, so it's, it's a, it's a bison.

Donnie:

I'm waiting for one of these weeks where it's a bird versus bird matchup.

Laura:

Can you please look up Their mascot, do you see how many full grown men it takes To bring in a juvenile'cause that's a juvenile bison,

Katy:

Right?

Laura:

four, grown men, one juvenile bison. Meanwhile, Aggie is been being led in on a lead rope by one person,

Katy:

Yeah. That right there shipped out you. Oh. Yeah, okay. So that that's a given that's colorado there just given donny Are you going with colorado on that one as well,

Donnie:

Yes, and Dion is riding in on a bison.

Katy:

That is one thing I wouldn't put past him is that he would be like I can do that And totally ride that bison in one of these days. I would not even put that past him

Laura:

as one should.

Katy:

That, that I wouldn't even be surprised. I would not even be surprised. Alrighty, so then what was the NFL one that you pick for this week, Donnie?

Donnie:

so once again, another week where there's, we have limited animal, animal matchups. So, I chose a good one. It's the Colts and the Texans. Houston Texans are, I believe their mascot's a bull on their helmet,

Laura:

okay, I'm looking it up.

Donnie:

And I would imagine the Colt's the uh, Adult male horse,

Laura:

A technically a cult is a juvenile horse. But I'm sure it's supposed to be a grown

Katy:

Yeah, I'm, Yeah. I'm, Just, oh look, here comes all those babies! That's what it

Laura:

That's literally what a cult is. It's a young male a baby

Katy:

Okay, so then Toro.

Laura:

I'm just trying to figure out what Toro is. Just, just a black bull.

Donnie:

Is that somebody's mascot?

Katy:

Yeah, Houston.

Laura:

is the, is the, is the

Katy:

The Texans.

Donnie:

Oh, I think it's just a bull. right?

Laura:

Yeah, like I just was trying to figure out if we could figure out what kind.

Katy:

a Spanish fighting bull

Laura:

Okay.

Katy:

isn't a, a cow or a Longhorn. It's a Spanish fighting bull.

Donnie:

All right. So like the bull run and Italy, that style bull,

Laura:

in Spain.

Donnie:

did I say? Italy,

Laura:

Yeah.

Katy:

Italians.

Laura:

And then who's the other one? It's the Colts, right? Okay, so a horse versus a bull. It looks exactly like have you guys ever seen have you seen Ferdinand?

Katy:

Oh, of course,

Laura:

Okay, it's Ferdinand. With the slightly forward facing horns.

Katy:

except I'm, I'm sure not as sweet as Fernan

Laura:

Probably not.

Donnie:

me know, me knowing the little that I know, I think the bull has one shot at it against the horse because I think, just me, I think the horse would kick the crap out of it.

Laura:

Man, that, this one's kind of hard. I mean, the bull has the horns, which is a definite plus.

Donnie:

sure there's a YouTube video of this in real life. it probably happens all the time.

Laura:

Well, and it it drives me crazy that the teams aren't actually what their mascot is. So, if it was actually a colt, if it was actually a

Katy:

chance. Yeah, if it was a baby horse. Snap his little baby legs. He's done for.

Laura:

The bull has the weight. The bull has the horns. But horses fight dirty. Cause they've got the long necks and they bite,

Katy:

Yes, Yeah. a horse bite sucks. Like, people always talk about horses kicking, but if you've never been bit by a horse, that sucks.

Laura:

Yeah, people have lost, Like, I'll never forget, because a couple of my aunts have horses, they would always cringe when they would see people feeding their horses, like, a carrot from their mouth, because there have been people that have lost their noses, like, like, they'll just bite it

Katy:

yeah,

Donnie:

But, if you mess with the bull, you get the horns. So I'm watching like you ain't lying like this thing looks like it fights dirty like there, you know, there's dirt everywhere So the bulls up there comes out and he's a little quick and then he starts kicking dirt in its face And then it I'm like jeez

Laura:

yeah, I just The hor and the horse has got the jump. To try and dodge. It can get on its two legs to rotate. I'm going horse. I'm going Colts.

Katy:

For me, I really think that this one is gonna come down to who gets the hit first. Like, it's gonna be like one of those who, who gets the first hit kind of things.

Laura:

Cause yeah, I think, I think the hooves would do some serious damage.

Donnie:

Both of these teams are really bad And I'm gonna go with Houston just because of where the games being played. It's in, Texas

Laura:

So.

Katy:

And then as far as animals go, Laura, what are you saying?

Laura:

I think the cults, but I'm, I'm willing to be swayed

Katy:

Yeah, if the bull can get the first hit in, I think it can do more. Damage quicker as far as because yeah the horse is gonna can like kick it and it sucks and it's gonna hurt but I also think a bull is like beefier and can take a little bit more than a than a horse could.

Laura:

Yeah. I think that's probably true.

Katy:

So I'm gonna go with it with the with the bull on this one.

Laura:

I think I'm gonna say the cults. So we got Houston and one.

Katy:

yeah we'll see then.

Laura:

see.
